Horizon 2.0 Task Light
A slim light panel and a simple touch control give Horizon 2.0 a quiet presence on the desk. Position the light for your reading, writing or detailed work without filling the workspace with bulky equipment.
Designed by Mike McCoy & Peter Stathis
Horizon was created by industrial designers Michael “Mike” McCoy and Peter Stathis. McCoy brings a background in product design and design education; Stathis contributes a particular focus on lighting. Together, they shaped the original Horizon around a remarkably thin, luminous panel and a simple, adjustable structure.
Introduced in 2011, the original Horizon earned a Red Dot Award and a place in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. Horizon 2.0 carries that design forward with refinements to its light quality, energy efficiency and integrated controls.
A broad pool of light
Thin Film LED technology distributes light across a slim rectangular panel. A 3000 K source and 92+ CRI combine a warm-white appearance with faithful colour rendering.
Position it with one hand
The counterbalanced arm and ball joints let you redirect the head as the task changes. Its freestanding base keeps installation simple and makes it easy to move the lamp to another desk.
Touch to set the brightness
Use the integrated touch dimmer to match the brightness to the surrounding light. The colour temperature stays at 3000 K; it is not a colour-changing lamp.
Who is it for?
Horizon 2.0 suits readers, writers and people doing detail-focused desk work who prefer a warmer light and a compact, sculptural lamp. Choose Arctic White, Jet Black, Silver or Morning Pink to suit the space.

This product is backed by Humanscale's official limited warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser.
Coverage is non-transferable and excludes normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, unauthorized modification or service, damage during transport, and issues caused by third-party parts, improper maintenance, or conditions outside Apex Stand's control. At its discretion, Apex Stand may repair or replace covered items; doing so does not extend the original warranty term. Is the light warm white, and can I change it?
Horizon 2.0 provides a fixed 3000 K warm-white light. Use the touch dimmer to adjust brightness; it does not change the colour temperature.
Can I move it to another desk?
Yes. The freestanding desktop base does not require a clamp or permanent installation. Unplug the lamp before moving it, then place it on a stable, dry surface with the cable clear of moving furniture.
How should I position it to reduce glare?
Use the counterbalanced arm and ball joints to direct light towards your reading or work area. Keep the illuminated panel out of your direct line of sight, check for screen reflections and lower the brightness when the room is dim.
Does it use a replaceable light bulb?
The LED light source is integrated and is not user-replaceable. If the light or power supply needs attention, contact Apex Stand for service rather than opening the fixture.
What comes with the lamp?
The lamp includes its freestanding desktop base and a North American power supply. Your selected colour and SKU identify the finish. Furniture and other accessories pictured are not included; the assembly guide is available in Specifications.
